DIY Interior Designing with Some Tips from Rock Robins

We know that you’ve got some interior designing skills hidden somewhere, it’s just sitting there dormant. Why don’t we dig in and get that running again shall we? I have a feeling you’re the type of person who have great taste even without trying. Yup, I can totally sense it. Well then, let’s get started.
How can we get the motivation to take our interiors from dull to gorgeous?  Well that’s easy, as long as you take note of these simple steps.

The Power of Color

A color dictates the personality and mood of the room. Choose a color that you like, and that represents the room. It’s vital that you aim for simplicity when you are designing a room. Try to use only 3-4 -color schemes. This will make your room look simple, classy and fresh. Mix three colors of shades that will be used for the wall, the furniture, and lastly for the accessories. Here are some ideas for your color combinations:

Yellow, Blue, and Green

Try combining warm yellows, calm blues, and cool greens, and you will get a simple palette that means happiness, optimistic energy and liveliness. It is a combination of refreshing colors that are often defined as a natural peacemaker, because it has many relations with the comforting features of nature.

Muted Gold, Pink and Black

If you want to achieve a simple, minimal, and sophisticated theme then try using muted gold and off-white tones contrasted against blacks and whites to create a stunning contrast perfect for any classy and chic design you may think of.

Blue, White and Orange

Try different tones of orange and blue to create a playful, energetic color palette. Take note that you need to balance these tones accordingly. If you think you’re using too much positive and energetic tones, you can tone them down by adding some more neutral whites or greys. We want to keep things stimulating, but not too overwhelming.

Grey, Blue and Pink

This color combination creates a striking and outstanding effect. This has a bold, high-contrast effect. All you have to do is combine black against purples, and blues against pinks. This color palette has a strong dark background with striking light accent colors which means calm and composed yet solid and stable.

The Art of Accessorizing

Now that you have an idea regarding color combinations and palettes, it’s time to move to the accessorizing part. Accessories are the finishing touches of the color, it gives a better effect and higher impact on your decorations, thus they play a big role in interior design.
Accessories reflect your style and way of life. Minimalism is one of the key to accessorizing. Find your balance by keeping things evenly weighted from your space, accessories and furniture. By creating a balanced space you’ll immediately find that the room feels more tranquil and is easier to relax and enjoy. Here are some basic accessories to enhance your room:

Make Use of Trays, Decorative Bowls and Baskets

Designers love to use trays, decorative bowls and sometimes baskets, they use this to collect all the items that are loose and might need a place to be arranged properly and in an organised fashion.

For a hint of attraction, try adding an extravagant gold tray to your coffee table. On top of the tray you can also add a gold cup, and a couple of books inside a basket. Little outlooks such as these seem frivolous, but they are important to a decorated aesthetic. For a more rural and country side approach, try woven baskets in your home. Baskets are fabulous gems that can be used to hide clutter and unnecessary things at home.

Put Flowers and Plants on Every Room

This is another simple tip that we want to teach you; by simply adding floral arrangements, like live plants or any natural items such as vases of shells or rocks, can also add to the final touches of your interior design. Being close to greenery makes us feel more comfortable, thus resulting to less stress, anxiety, and tension. Who can resist the exquisiteness of a beautiful bouquet of red roses?

Flowers also contribute to over-all wellbeing as their presence delivers positive vibe, and lifts the aesthetic and harmonic level of your room.
